about Me

Matt began playing the drums when he was 10 years old, taking lessons until age 15. He has a vast range of musical influences, from metal to funk and jazz. In addition to being a founding member of Nicolas Cage Fighter, Matt has played in numerous bands over the years including Athenas Wake and Bunyip. He has also appeared on multiple session drum recordings.

NICOLAS CAGE FIGHTER

Nicolas Cage Fighter is a four-piece metallic hardcore band from Ballarat, Australia. Formed in 2011, the band released their debut EP, 3350, in June 2013 and toured in support of it, sharing the stage with bands such as Attila, Thy Art Is Murder, Thick As Blood, Iwrestledabearonce, I Declare War, Deez Nuts, In Hearts Wake, Aversions Crown, Saviour, Hellions, and many more.

In January 2020, a two-track single/demo, Hell In Me, was released; during this time, Nicolas Cage Fighter also began writing for their Cast You Out EP released in February 2021. The Cast You Out EP caught the attention of Chris Santos, founder of Blacklight Media, which resulted in the band signing a worldwide record deal with Blacklight Media and Metal Blade Records in March of 2021.

2022 saw the release of the band's critically acclaimed debut full length album, 'The Bones That Grew From Pain' released through Metal Blade Records. The band toured Australia extensively in support of the album, with features in well regarded publications such as Decibel Magazine, Knotfest Magazine and the cover of Heavy Magazine, along with several Spotify playlist features.

In early 2023 the band signed with booking agency Bleeding Art Collective and underwent a line up change. The second album to be released by Metal Blade Records is currently in the pre-production stage with plans for recording mid-year.
